I love summer and we love cooking out! I feel that everything taste better on the grille. I am always looking for ways to spice up basic recipes ..like BBQ chicken. This recipe is soo yummy and different than just spreading some store bought BBQ sauce onto your chicken. This sauce is easy to make and taste better than the bottle! Try it out this July 4th!
SUMMER BBQ CHICKEN
- Mix the brown sugar, garlic, salt and pepper together and coat chicken in a bag or bowl and marinate for 4 hours. The longer the better. You can do this overnight.
- Heat oil in saucepan. Cook onion and add ketchup, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce and simmer 10-15 minutes.
- Remove from bag or bowl and cook chicken on the grill for 2 minutes on each side.
- Lower heat and baste chicken with homemade sauce for 10 minutes and then flip and baste again for another 10 minutes. Coat chicken with sauce when cooked fully. Low temps will keep your chicken juicy and cooked evenly throughout and, not too crispy.
**Use 8-10 drumsticks for this recipe, or whatever parts of chicken you prefer!
