Our family has always recycled and as my children have gotten older they now understand the importance of recycling and taking care of the earth we live in.  It’s such a great feeling to teach your children about the things that really matter on this earth and start to see them apply these lessons.

One lesson we have always taught our children is to take care of the many blessings God has given us.  This includes our home, our clothes, toys and this earth.  I have seen my children pick up trash off the ground that was not theirs because they know that every little bit makes a difference.

It was pretty neat to introduce them to PepsiCo’s Recycle Rally program.  Thousands of students across the nation are leading the way through PepsiCo’s Recycle Rally. Recycle Rally is a free nationwide program that directly benefits K-12 schools and students by providing valuable incentives and resources to help make recycling easy, fun, and rewarding.

Even if you’ve been recycling for years or are just getting started, Recycle Rally will help boost the excitement and provide an array of tools to make recycling a big deal in your child’s school.

It is so simple to get involved and only takes a few seconds of your day.  We even let our toddler help.

So, we decided to make a craft this week to support this fun cause.  We got out all of our craft supplies and each of my children created their own DIY recycling bin.

My toddler made a monster and the other two boys created robot bins.  They love throwing the items they are recyling into their own special bin.  It was fun for them to use their creativity and create something that made recycling even more fun.

They can even make a competition from it and see who has the most at the end of the week.

Back to school is always about new beginnings and new habits in our home and it’s a great time to encourage your kids to get involved in a recycling routine.

What a wonderful idea to really get the kids involved in recycling. Amazing how much one person can recycle and help out.

My daughter loves to recycle. But we are also working on reducing our waste so we don’t have much to recycle or throw away! Their projects came out cute! I think a trip to a recycle center is in order.

We too teach our children to recycle and to be grateful for all we have. I showed my children pictures of the families who have lost everything in Hurricane Harvey and they were quick to ask, “How Can We Help?”
