Making your tax refund last: Movie night ideas

Tax time can be stressful. It doesn’t have to be.  When you’re stretching your refund and making smart financial decisions, it relives the anxiety that can come with this time of year.  We used some of our return to try the Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan. It features: Unlimited* Talk, Text, & Data which *includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE then 2G and a free movie credit on VUDU every month ($7 value) for $49.88 per month, per line.  This is a great value for your buck.

The extra data is great for internet searching, streaming media, playing games, and downloading apps when I am away from WIFI and my home.

I picked up the Samsung Galaxy On5 for a retail price of $119 at Walmart.  The phone has all the features of a smart phone but you can pick a phone or Bring Your Own, and get your SIM Kit for only $19.88.

We saved so much with our phone plan, that it was easy to have an amazing Movie Night Party at home.   We are streaming our VUDU movie credit (which has a $7 value, same as new release rental) on our living room TV.

Some other smart choices we made with our tax refund included paying off medical bills, adding more to savings, and using the VUDU credit to host the Ultimate Movie Night.

We invited over my niece and nephew and had a fun family movie night at home! We decorated with some fun balloons, glow sticks and movie night decor.

I think the popcorn bar was the kids favorite! We made homemade popcorn and gave them different candies and chocolates to add to their bags.

We had hotdogs with fun wrappers like it was straight from the concession stand.

I also gave the kids bands and balloons that glowed in the dark. This made the movie watching atmosphere even more fun.  They all huddled on the floor and had a ball!

We always look for ways to stretch our money, but still make some great memories. These are some ways we are making the most of this tax season.
