There is nothing I love more than seafood.  It is my happy place and I could seriously eat it for every meal.  Our family is always looking for ways to include better/healthier foods into our diets and salmon is a great way to do that.  I am trying to be more conscious of the things that go into my families bodies and salmon has so many benefits.  It’s a great source of vitamin D, protein and omega-3 fatty acids.  However, I’ve learned through trying many different kinds that all salmon is not created equal.
The recipe below is made with Alaska salmon.  All Alaska salmon is wild.  This includes five species: king, sockeye, coho, keta and pink.  You can find it in the freezer section or over the counter.  Alaska salmon is natural, sustainable and of the highest quality.  You can really taste the difference too.
It is the best salmon you can buy. I was amazed how delicious and fresh the frozen salmon tasted.  All I did was let it thaw in the refrigerator and it turned out amazing.  The season to start buying it fresh from the seafood counter starts in May! Just ask your local grocery store when it will be available.
This time of year is my favorite for seafood.  It’s something about sitting outside, enjoying warmer weather and eating some fresh seafood that makes for the perfect evening.  Grilling, Sautéing and Baking are my favorite ways to cook Alaska salmon.
Alaska salmon has such a great flavor so I don’t like to add too many extra ingredients to it.  So the recipe I’m sharing  below is a simple, fresh one that is perfect for any time of year.
Garlic Lemon Butter Salmon is delicious.  It is almost impossible to ruin and is definitely a crowd pleasure.  You can throw it on a salad or you can pair it with some rice and a fresh vegetable.

All you have to do is throw a few ingredients into a saucepan for a light sauce, cook the salmon and simmer in the sauce.  Dinner is ready in less than 15 minutes.  My kind of meal.  I hope you can try it out soon.
